Dental Veneers in Midtown, NYC
New York City
Beautiful, elegant, timeless. These are all things a great smile should be. But it’s hard to keep your teeth pristine with all the work they do for you. Your teeth crunch, tear, and help you digest a lot of hard and tough foods throughout your life, and they get chipped, stained, and worn down over time. They’re also on the front line of your social interactions with other people. Hesitance to laugh with or smile at others can weigh on your self-esteem.
At Nadler Dentistry, one of the things we love giving our patients even more than beautiful, healthy teeth is the newfound sense of self-confidence that almost always accompanies them. Porcelain veneers (also called “facings” or “laminates”) are one of the best options in our smile makeover toolkit for enhancing your smile. If you’re not happy with the color, shape, or look of your teeth, porcelain veneers give you a smile you can’t wait to show off.
If you have questions about the benefits of veneers or our other cosmetic dentistry treatments, please contact our Midtown Manhattan dental practice. You can contact us through our website or call Nadler Dentistry to schedule your consultation at (212) 757-3745.
Why Do People Get Porcelain Veneers?
Most people get porcelain veneers because they want to look like the actors they see on TV and the silver screen. Cosmetic dentists often credit cosmetic veneers for giving their patients a “Hollywood” smile. Many A-list celebrities have porcelain veneers, including:
- Demi Moore
- George Clooney
- Nicholas Cage
- Hilary Duff
- Cardi B
- Miley Cyrus
Using a precise mold of your teeth, our master ceramist hand-crafts each custom veneer. Don’t be surprised to catch the dentists and staff gathered to coo over a new set of veneers; we regard them as works of art! We think you will, too.

What Are Some of the Benefits
of Getting Porcelain Veneers?
A porcelain veneers treatment plan is completely customizable based on your unique needs and aesthetic goals. It can be a one-off, standalone treatment, or it can be part of a broader smile makeover plan. During your consultation, Dr. Nadler will create a customized treatment plan using his expertise and vision to best fit your desires.
Porcelain veneers are fantastic way to improve a smile marred by discolored, cracked, chipped, worn, or gapped teeth. Veneers are also:
- Long lasting – Most porcelain veneers will last 10-15 years on average. Many last even longer.
- Stain resistant – Porcelain veneers will resist stains from things like wine, chocolate, and tea much better than your natural tooth enamel.
- Minimally invasive – Chipped, cracked, discolored teeth don’t necessarily always need a dental crown. Rather than removing a significant amount of healthy tooth as you would with a crown, a more conservative cosmetic option might be preparing just a tiny sliver of your healthy tooth for a veneer.
- Easy after-care – Some types of bridges and dental implants may require significant maintenance or alterations to your daily routine, but veneers function exactly like your normal teeth. Brush twice daily and floss and your porcelain veneers will easily last more than a decade.
- Quick and easy – The four-step process for getting veneers is simple and straight-forward. You’ll experience very little downtime and little or no discomfort during your veneers appointments.
- Conservative alternative to crowns – Like crowns, veneers are permanent, but they require far less preparation and treatment time.
- Easily customizable for each patient – The mold takes a precise cast of your teeth, resulting in a smile that fits your mouth and face. No two smiles are the same!
- Natural results – Not only do the custom molds ensure a natural look, the porcelain used mimics natural enamel. Porcelain, like enamel, is semi-translucent, the light penetrating it will reflect back. Your teeth with veneers will have the same luster characteristic of natural teeth.

Our Porcelain Veneer Treatment Process
at Nadler Dentistry
During your consultation, Dr. Nadler will examine your teeth and discuss all options for transforming your smile. Our cosmetic dentistry treatment philosophy uses what we call an ADTP framework, which stands for aesthetically-driven treatment planning. This approach is different than many other practices because we start with your desired outcome and then work backward to figure out how we can best reach your goal.
In addition to brightening teeth with veneers, we improve smiles every day by changing the shape, length, and color of the teeth, which can even provide lip support.
Because we use the latest imaging technology (3D imaging and modeling), you can make precise decisions about the color, shape, and look of your new smile ahead of time. The entire veneers process occurs over four (more if necessary) appointments at our comfortable Midtown, NYC practice.
Dr. Nadler sits down to discuss your desired outcome, whether that’s the Hollywood-style, “1,000-watt” smile or a more subdued but classy, consistent appearance. We take digital impressions and photos, collect X-rays, and take measurements. With this data, Dr. Nadler and our design team get to work creating a brilliant custom smile design that’s unmistakably you.
Using Dr. Nadler’s 3D printed models and hand crafted design, you are ready to test drive your “trial smile.” It’s important for everyone to make sure Dr. Nadler’s vision and your vision match. With your input, Dr. Nadler finesses the trial smile. The design team implements his adjustments.
At your third appointment, we reshape and prepare the teeth to receive the final veneers. We use our final vision so the minimal amount of tooth removal is performed, as precisely as a few tenths of a millimeter! We fit you with temporaries, which we verify for shape, contour, and color. With final approval from you, our master ceramist handcrafts your new veneers.
We notify you immediately once your new custom porcelain veneers arrive. We verify both fit and cosmetics to ensure you are supremely happy. Finally, we adhere the veneers to your teeth, where they can stay pearly and lustrous for 10 to 15 years or longer (with good care, of course)!
After your porcelain veneers treatment, we will schedule a short follow-up appointment about a week later and make sure you’re set for future hygiene appointments.

Nadler dentistry accepts all major credit cards and all payments can be broken up during the treatment process.
This is a great question and dependent on the individual case. Sometimes a case is as simple as a single veneer and other times it can be as many as 20 veneers. Each person has unique individualized smile needs. This will all be reviewed during your cosmetic consultation.
If you are interested in a smile makeover, I urge you to video tape yourself speaking, laughing and smiling. Look carefully how your lips move and when your teeth are showing. Most people’s upper teeth dominate their smile while their lower teeth are more pronounced when they are speaking. So if you are looking for a completely natural appearance it is often best to address both arches of teeth.
This often depends on which teeth are being treated and why the veneers are being done. It is possible to stage a veneer case, however with that said it is much more difficult to get an exact match for color, shade, translucence and texture when the veneers are made separately. If the veneers are to be done in stages it is often best to do the center teeth together and then the lateral teeth together to maintain symmetry.
The difference cosmetically can be significant depending on the preparation of the tooth and the color of the tooth structure. Technically the difference is the amount of tooth structure that the porcelain will cover. From a cosmetic point of view, veneers are often much thinner allowing for the underlying tooth structure to shine through the porcelain making it appear more natural as well as being a much less invasive procedure. For a crown the tooth is reduced 360 degrees, while a veneer usually requires much less alteration of the tooth to provide a cosmetic result. Often the reason someone would need a crown is to protect the remaining tooth structure and not necessarily for cosmetics even though crowns can be made to match the neighboring teeth.
The answer to this question is a resounding yes. For many cases a smile enhancement will involve replacing some existing dentistry, which often includes a crown and enhancing the neighboring teeth to create the stunning smile. You cannot crown and veneer the same tooth, but smile makeovers usually involve a plethora of different treatments, each one depending on what is most appropriate for the individual patient and tooth.
You should video yourself speaking, laughing, and smiling. You should have some idea about what it is about your smile that you would like improved. When you come to my office I will point out what I see and make my recommendations, but it is important to work as a team. Every smile is unique and should remain that way. Every face is unique and must be taken into consideration when the teeth are designed. Color choice is also dependent on your specific vision. Have these concepts in mind before you come in for your consultation and we will deliver on your vision. The more precise you are the more likely we are to design your case to perfection. Veneer appointments are not painful, but they are lengthy so you should also come relaxed knowing that you will be spending a few hours in our office.
At this time you would already have seen a blueprint for your future smile, so it can be quite exciting. You can expect to present to the office and spend a few hours in the chair, depending on the extent of the smile enhancement. Each tooth will be reshaped and the information recorded in a digital or analog impression. A set of temporaries will be inserted and you will leave the office with a beautiful smile. There is hardly ever any discomfort associated with this appointment. After this appointment I like the patient to return a few days later to examine the temporary veneers and the overall smile and make any modifications to the temporaries prior to going to completion. We want perfection in the provisional so that you know exactly what you will be getting in the finals. Once we have perfection our master ceramists duplicate the contours of the Provisionals and we can go to completion.
The insertion of the veneer appointment is quite similar. There is usually no discomfort, but the appointment is lengthy. The provisional are taken off and the final veneers are tried in ensuring that they fit and look beautiful. If made correctly, the porcelain veneers should be almost identical to the provisional in contour. These veneers are then adhered to the teeth and adjusted and polished. When you leave this appointment your smile will be exactly as you expected it to be, providing that healthy youthful appearance.
My patients don’t have a recovery period. Our procedures are done with extreme care and hardly ever cause any discomfort.
Once the ideal smile is designed and approved by you, there usually is 3 appointments to complete a set of veneers. One appointment to shape the teeth. The second appointment to verify that the provisional smile is everything we want it to be. The third and most important appointment is to insert the veneers and deliver your new smile. After completion of the veneers patients are advised to return a week later to make any small modifications and ensure that your new beautiful smile is comfortable.
Many people feel this way, in fact we encourage you to have questions. Having a smile transformation is life changing and should be well thought out. If you have questions we still encourage you to schedule a consultation where we can evaluate your smile and desire and answer all of your questions and most certainly give you a few new things to consider. We do not pressure our patients, we provide treatment that you want in your best interest.
You should have some idea of what you like and don’t like about your smile. You should also have your most recent set of x rays emailed to my office for review . At this point you are ready to call my office at 212 757 3745 and schedule your veneer consultation, you will not disappointed.
